What Is Your Purpose?

A question that lingers on mind constantly is "what is your purpose?" Why am I on this earth? What contributions am I supposed to make to humanity before I find myself six feet under the ground and forgotten? What is my purpose?

I don't believe that I am the only one who struggles with this, I believe this is something that every individual struggles with at one point or another.

So, for my sake and yours, I am going to tell us all what our purpose on this earth really is.

Our purpose on this earth is to love. It's to be happy. It's to enjoy every breath of oxygen that we are blessed enough to inhale.

It is so simple, yet we attempt to make it so complex.

We feel his urge to change the world. We put this immense pressure onto our shoulders that we are somehow supposed to change a world that has been cycling around the sun for billions of years in just the small amount of time that we happen to live on it. And we feel like if we don't change the world then we have failed the world. That is an absurd duty to put onto anybody.

We can set things into motion, we can progress changes that have been happening, we can finish things that have been started. We can join up in groups of others to make a change, but to put the pressure on ourselves to change this world single handily is an unfair task to give ourselves.

We are placed onto this earth to enjoy ourselves. To enjoy our few moments of life. To spend as much time with loved ones as possible. That is our main task. That is our main duty. That is our main purpose. Anything that happens after that is a bonus.

My point is we need to stop putting so many unreasonable and nearly impossible responsibilities on ourselves. We need to stop basing our worth on changing the world.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't try to change the world or better the world, of course we should! What I am saying, however, is that we need to stop putting so much pressure on ourselves to do so.

So the next time "what is your purpose" creeps into your mind just take a deep breath...and remember, your purpose is to enjoy your short time on this earth.

Smile. Everything is going to be alright.
