The Miracles of a Positive Mindset

My entire life I have always been better at finding the negatives in life than I have been at finding the positives. This has hindered me from enjoying a lot of moments in my life and I feel that it has also taken its toll on those around me. People can only take so much negativity.

But most importantly, my negative mind was beginning to take a toll on my mind, body, and spirituality. So I knew it was time for me to make a change.

That is when I discovered that, unlike emotions, your outlook on life is controllable.

This discovery has changed my life and has drastically affected my mood. Ever since I have been consciously reminding myself to stay positive I have felt myself become happier and happier. I feel more joy in my life. I feel hopeful. And I feel more inspired.

Putting yourself in a positive mindset is quite easy. The first step is to look for the positives in everything around you. The beauty of the trees flowing in the wind. The peaceful chirping of the birds flying by. The cooling breeze blowing through your hair. Find the positivity.

Next, you need to remind yourself of all of the blessings in your life. For me, I remind myself of my loving family and friends that are so supportive of me and my decisions. I recognize the opportunities that I am given everyday to chase my dreams and my passions. I see the blessings that are my website and YouTube channel which both provide a platform for me to express myself. I feel the presence of a God that overflows me with His grace and His love and His forgiveness, despite how little I deserve it.

And lastly, you need to surround yourself with positive people and positive surroundings. The people that you allow around you have a huge impact on your mood and mindset. To stay positive you need to fuel yourself with positivity. This means that you can only keep people around you who help to fuel that positivity.

To make sure that your surroundings stay positive, you must cut out people who bring in negativity. I know it may be difficult, because it may mean cutting out some of your closest friends, but it is a necessity for your goodwill.

You also need to make sure you are in a place that allows you to be positive. For me, my hometown is the home of a lot of ghosts that still affect me today. When I go back home I feel overwhelmed by my past and it leads me down a dark road filled with negative thoughts. So I knew, for my own sake, I needed to get out. That is a large reason why I decided to move to Los Angeles, a city where I have very little memories and a whole lot of positive moments to create.

Everybody has their own formula that works perfectly for them to find positivity. Find yours.
