Completely, Fully, Undeniably Human

All of our veins run red. Our bones stay strong. Our hearts desire love. And our souls are filled with dreams. It doesn't matter in which country we sleep, or which religious book we read or denounce, we are human. All of us. Nothing more, nothing less. Only completely, fully, undeniably human. So why do we feel the need to separate?

We separate ourselves into groups of religion, then within those groups of religion we separate ourselves into groups of denominations. We separate ourselves into groups of race, then we separate those groups into groups of politics. We separate our rights into women's rights, men right's, black rights, white rights, muslim's rights, christian's rights, gay rights, instead of purely human rights. After all that is the only thing that all of us are, human.

In nearly every religion-- Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Mormonism, etc. we are taught to love one another. So why do we only love one another who gives themselves the same title as us? "Oh, I heard he's a Christian. That makes me like him so much more." I use Christianity as an example here because Christians happen to be the large majority of people around me and this exact quote is a thing that I have heard countless amounts of time. Why do we have to love him more because he's Christian? Why can't we already love him because he is human? After all, did God not teach us to love thy neighbor? He did not specify to love him purely based on religion, but just plainly to love him. No matter what.

Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of a dream on August 28, 1963. A dream that all peoples (black, white, brown, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, gay, straight, bi, female, male, or none of the above) will learn to love one another. Not just coexist, not just mingle in peace, not just be cordial, but to love one another. As a human race we are still trying to realize that dream. We have come closer, sure, but the dream is still far in the distance. The light is dim, but there is light nonetheless. We must march on. We must fight with love. That's it. Fight with love.

After all, our veins all run red. Our bones stay strong. Our hearts desire love. And our souls are filled with dreams. It doesn't matter in which country we sleep, or which religious book we read or denounce, we are human. All of us. Nothing more, nothing less. Only completely, fully, undeniably human.
